Born in 1956 in Evansville, Indiana to Judy and Jerry Graham, I grew up in New York City and Stockbridge, Mass,
before settling in Los Angeles in 1979.
Married to the writer and teacher Ruth Stroud, I am also the father
of student/musician/artist Sam, housemate of Jasper and Jinxy and brother of Atlanta musician Jez and Santa Cruz student
Lily.

I cover technology (mostly digital entertainment) for USA TODAY, where I have been a staff reporter since 1984, writing
about everything from television, movies and music to features about ice cream cones, Motel 6, Stuckey's drive-in and roller
coasters. Now it's a lot of gadgets, cameras, MP3 players and websites.
I have worked in radio (DJ, ad sales, news
announcing and writing, commercial producing,) television (a short-lived stint at "Entertainment Tonight" as a news producer)
other newspapers (The Hollywood Reporter and the Glendale News-Press) and retail (I co-owned and co-founded San Francisco's
Recycled Records, 1976-79.)
I have written for many publications, including Reader's Digest, Cosmopolitan, In Style,
TV Guide, Esquire, Playboy, Los Angeles and Rolling Stone.
Author or co-author of nine books, my credits include "Vegas:
Live and In Person," "Salesman of the Century: Ron Popeil," "Aaron Spelling: A Prime-Time Life," and "Life is a Contact Sport,"
with Ken Kragen. There's also guides to "Frasier," and "Rugrats." Of "Vegas: Live and In Person," the late Sammy Davis, Jr.
said: "The definitive book on the subject by one of my favorite writers."
I have two finished novels under my belt--"Norton, Norton & Nordovsky," and "Defrosted."
Oh, and I play
the guitar, stand-up bass and piano and take an occasional photograph. I have an accordion, but I'm not very good at it.
